Description
Properties
Ferroline C12X2 is a shielding gas mixture consisting of 86% Ar, 12% CO₂ and 2% O₂, classified as M24 – ArCO – 12/2 according to EN ISO 14175. The gas pressure in the cylinder is 20 MPa (200 bar) at a temperature of +15°C. Ferroline C12X2 is a new-generation universal welding gas mixture designed for MAG welding. It is suitable for both entry-level semi-automatic welding machines with maximum welding currents of up to 160–200 A and powerful industrial MAG welding machines with welding currents of up to 600 A. FERROLINE gas mixtures are primarily used for welding low-carbon and low-alloy steels. Ferroline C12X2 is designed as a replacement for Ferroline C18, offering a versatile shielding gas solution for a wide range of MAG welding applications.Application
Ferroline C12X2 is used in industry as a special-purpose shielding gas mixture for welding low-carbon and low-alloy steels, helping to achieve high-quality welds. It is suitable for mechanical engineering, including the manufacture of metal structures and pipelines, as well as for construction applications, such as welding load-bearing structures. Welding gas mixtures containing argon, carbon dioxide and oxygen (Ar+CO₂+O₂) offer several advantages over conventional argon-carbon dioxide mixtures (Ar+CO₂). The addition of oxygen stabilizes the arc and promotes the formation of finer metal droplets during welding. As a result, the spatter is finer and easier to remove from the area adjacent to the weld, reducing the effort required for post-weld cleaning. Oxygen also improves the wetting of the base material, resulting in a smoother, more uniform weld bead and improved weld appearance. Ferroline C12X2 is a premium-grade welding mixture that provides good penetration while producing fine, easily removable spatter, making it suitable for applications where both weld quality and productivity are important.Таблица параметров

Specifications
Ferroline C12X2 is mostly used with welding wire types SG1, SG2 welding wire (ER70S-6), and SG3 welding wire (ER70S-6) (AWS/ASME SFA-5.18, EN ISO 14341-A) with diameters from 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm and larger. Ferroline C12X2 is suitable for welding mild (low-carbon and low-alloy) steels with material thicknesses from 3 mm to 10 mm and more. The welding quality is very good, with good penetration, smooth weld bead formation and fine, easily removable metal spatter. The addition of oxygen helps to stabilize the arc and produce finer metal droplets, making post-weld cleaning of the area adjacent to the weld easier.Interesting information
The 2% oxygen content in Ferroline C12X2 does not have a harmful effect on the weld metal. At this concentration, oxygen acts as an active component of the shielding gas, helping to stabilize the arc and improve the welding process. The addition of oxygen promotes a stable arc and facilitates the transition to spray transfer at appropriate welding parameters. It also contributes to increased penetration and improves the wetting of the base material, resulting in a smooth and uniform weld bead. Oxygen promotes the formation of finer metal droplets, which reduces the size of metal spatter and makes it easier to remove from the area adjacent to the weld. When welding with Ferroline C12X2, the arc is perceived by welders as stable, soft and pleasant to weld with, providing good control of the welding process and consistent weld quality.Welding Positions (according to ISO 6947):
