Description

Properties

INOXLINE is the group of gases for welding, mostly of medium and high alloy steels (stainless steels). Inoxline C2 (Ar = 97.5%, CO2 = 2.5%), EN ISO 14175 M12 ArC-2 is suitable for MAG welding medium and high alloy (stainless) steels. For this mixture, welding is possible in both normal and pulsed mode (preferred), as well as robotic welding. The mixture is well suited for metal welding up to 10 mm thick. It is used both for entry-level semi-automatic welding machines (DIGI MIG 200 Pulse SHERMAN) and for powerful industrial  MAG machines with welding currents up to 600 A (LINCOLN POWERTEC I320C ADVANCED)

Applications

welding of Inoxline C2
Shielding gas is suitable for welding the following materials:
  • Austenitic chrome-nickel steels. Materials frequently used: 1.4301, 1.4541, 1.4571.
  • Duplex steels. Typical materials: 1.4435 and 1.4439.
  • Nickel base materials are used for maximum corrosion resistance requirements at high temperatures of more than 1000 °C. They are correspondingly identified by material numbers beginning with 2.

Specifications

Inoxline C2 is mostly used with welding wire types of ER308LSi, ER316LSi,  (AWS/ASME SFA - 5.9, EN ISO 14343 - A) with a diameter of 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm or more.  Inoxline C2 is mostly suited for welding of stainless  steel with a thickness  till 10 mm. If the thickness of the plates is more than 10mm we recommend using shielding gas Inoxline He15C2. High-power machines equipped with a pulse welding mode are most suitable for welding stainless steel. Pulse welding process characteristics:
  • Metal transfer occurs in the form of single droplets without spatter, which improves the quality of the weld.
  • The process allows for welding thin materials without burn-through and minimizes distortion.
  • Suitable for welding both thin sheets and thick metals.
