Interesting information: argon in gas discharge lamps glows with a violet-blue color. Similarly, in TIG welding, argon emits a bright white light with a bluish or violet hue. This color is due to the fact that during an electric discharge, argon atoms become excited and emit light primarily in the blue and violet wavelength range of the spectrum.
